Consistent and professional care
Tammy has always had a passion for helping others live their best life. After raising a blended family, she decided to further her education. Trying to find something that would combine her desire to help others with her love for horses, she choose therapy.
Tammy graduated from Oakland University in 2021 with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She then took a job working with a non-profit with a focus on substance abuse for a year before starting her private practice in early 2022. She divides her time between working with horses and providing therapy for those in need.
Tammy strongly believes people have what they need within themselves to work through the challenges they are struggling with. Having a safe place to process and work through issues is key to successful therapy. Building a trusting and safe relationship with your therapist is important as well.
Tammy uses a person-centered approach with motivational interviewing in her practice. She believes in continuous learning, and her focus is leading her into becoming specialized in trauma. She also works with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, PTSD, and provides life coaching.
Tammy has her LLPC which means she has a limited license. She works under a supervisor that supports the work she does with clients. While Tammy works to receive her full license, she is able to accept Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
